About the Audit Trail

Veratrak's Hub Audit Trail captures and records all changes made to:

  • Users

  • Groups

  • Roles

  • Alerts

Events listed in the audit trail can be filtered and inspected. Each event has an associated audit log and blockchain log. The event audit logs capture and display human-readable information about the event, while the blockchain log contains the stamp, the hash and blockchain transaction information. All information contained within the Audit Trail is immutable due to the nature of the blockchain technology.

Accessing the Audit Trail

The list of all audit logs can be accessed via the navigation panel by clicking on "Audit trail". Only users who have the permission logs:read can access the Audit trail.

List of audit logs

The Audit trail page displays a list of audit logs sorted by Created date by default, with the most recent logs being on the top.

For each log in the list, the following information is displayed:

  • User - the user who made the change

  • Created - date and time when the change was made

  • Category - category the change belongs to (for example; if the user deleted an alert, the category this change would belong to would be "Alert")

  • Event - the details of the change (in the example above this would be "Deleted")

  • Verified - displays whether the log has been recorded on the blockchain or is pending

When the log upload to the blockchain is still pending, the icon in the Verified column remains grey. Once the event is recorded on the blockchain, the icon turns blue.

Filtering Audit logs

Users can filter on the following fields

  • Date

  • User

  • Category

  • Event

Clicking the filter button will filter the list. Filter remains active until the user clicks onto another screen in the Hub Platform. Clicking the Clear button removes all applied filters.

Audit log Details

When the user clicks on an audit log, the log details are displayed in a side panel. Clicking anywhere outside the panel will close it.
