Files and folders can be shared within File Vault to Internal and existing Guest users through a 'Share' dialogue button. This window gives the option to add users to the share, which gives the right to see the file or folder.
Further share options can be selected for the user if their permissions allow for it (Please see All About File Vault Permissions and Basics of Users to see roles and their respective permissions)
Inviting guests with an email
Guest users can be invited into Veratrak to a specific file or folder via the ‘Invite new guests’ section in the Share window. By expanding the section, one or more guests can be invited using an email address, name and company.
How does folder hierarchy work?
The hierarchal structure of File Vault allows for a folder to be shared with a user and, upon doing so, all files and folders below will inherit the same share settings.
Share settings are not inherited, however, if the file or folder within already has custom settings for that user.
What permissions can be given to a user?
Opening the share window to a folder will allow you to select a user and assign the following permissions.
Note: Some users will not have all of these options available if their role does not permit it.
Sharing a file will give the same options, except for Upload and Create Folder, which only apply to folders.
