Uploading to File Vault

To begin with, ensure that the user attempting to upload to File Vault either has the Upload permission at a role level or, in the folder they are uploading to, has been given upload permissions in their share. For more information on this, see Sharing in File Vault

There are 2 ways of uploading a file; drag and drop, or through the upload dialogue.

From the users computer, selecting one or more files and dragging them to where existing files or folders exist will show a blue box around the upload area, releasing the files at this point will initiate the upload.

The other way to upload files is to open the dialogue. This can be done by clicking the 'Upload File' button in the top right or by selecting the 'Upload' option in the drop down menu of the breadcrumb bar.

See the highlighted spaces below for where an upload can be initiated from.

Downloading from File Vault

File Vault allows a user to download files, either individually or in bulk, up to a limit of 100 at a time.

For downloading an individual file, click the ellipsis and select 'Download'.

Alternatively, use the Download icon in the 'Bulk Actions' area, shown in the top right in the example below.

If you wish to download multiple files, select them by holding Shift on your keyboard and clicking all the files you wish to download. Any file you are able to download will show a green 'Download' icon under the Bulk Actions column.

For troubleshooting issues with File Vault downloads, please see "Browser Settings for Bulk Downloading from File Vault"
